Path of the Elders – African Heritage

Central and West Africa — motifs inspired by Ashanti, Yoruba, and Baule woven pattern traditions
This textile draws on symbolic language used in traditional kente and strip-woven cloths, where every repeat has meaning. The central oval forms are anchoring steps — the footprints or waystones of elders — while the flowing diamonds and mirrored lines reflect continuity, guidance, and spiritual presence across generations.
The muted earth palette reinforces the grounded wisdom that travels through time, not in haste, but with intention.
📜 Synopsis of the Story:
The elders do not shout.
They walk.
And in their walking, they leave behind signs — not always in words, but in patterns, repetitions, and gestures.
This design captures the echo of those steps: long, oval footprints placed between fields of mirrored memory. The winding designs that surround them are the lessons we keep walking over — until they become part of our own stride.
It is not a loud story. But it is one that carries.
